Little Friends Chatsworth 3-Levels 80cm Small Animal Rat Cage, Grey/White

Exactly what we were looking for. Some join bars around the top wider than I’d like and at the 2nd level door but we aren’t planning on using that anyway, so nothing a few cable ties can’t fix till my rats are bigger and won’t squeeze out! Much better quality than others I’ve seen for a similar price. I’ve removed the grates from the bottom as it would hurt my rats feet and just us the base of the tray as the bottom of the cage and it works perfectly. Thank you

I spent a long time trying to decide which cage to get for our new rats, and this is perfect. Beware, it's much bigger than it looks in the images! It was a bit fiddly to put together but probably took about 30-40 mins. It feels very well made and it has a tray at the bottom which you can slide out for easy cleaning. Our rats are 8 weeks old and they can't escape through the bars.

This cage is everything I wanted for my daughter’s rats. However it came a bit bent out of shape so was difficult to put together and needed cable ties to prevent the rats escaping through a few sections. Other than that it’s a great cage and couldn’t fault it.

Our rats live there new home. My only criticism is the holes in the bottom of cage, which is for easier cleaning but not good for rats feet

Got this as a starter cage and im impressed for the price.
Starting with the good points - good size for no more than 3/4 rats. Bargain price (had a little discount on top). Easy to figure out and put together. Bar spacing is small so can be used on young rats. Base can be easily adapted for a decent depth of substrate. Everything can be removed to make it more open planned. Doors are a decent size for access. Pull out draw for easier cleaning.
Now the negatives. The door drops slightly which creates a gap, but a bull clip sorts it out no problem. The top half bows in ever so slightly. The dimensions inside are a little smaller than 80×50 (73×47). The draw has a bit of a gap on the front left and right, so ive had to fill it with aquarium silicone so substrate doesn't escape (can also just be taped shut after every clean instead). You will need some zips ties or something just to make all the joins extra secure as the clips don't seem quite enough in places.

Basically if you don't have a ton of money or space, don't want to spend a fortune on altering a cage, only want a few rats and want something you can just get and use right away, this is absolutely the cage for you. Perfect as a starter or secondary/backup cage.
